Do I need a certificate for electrical work in my home?
Notifiable work, such as a new circuit or a consumer unit replacement, must meet Part P of the Building Regulations (Approved Document P). As an NICEIC registered installer, we notify the work for you, and you receive an Electrical Installation Certificate and a Building Regulations compliance certificate.
How often should my home’s electrics be checked?
As a guide, owner-occupied homes should have an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) at least every 10 years, and rented homes every 5 years. It is also worth having one when you buy a property or if the wiring is more than 25 years old.
How long does a consumer unit upgrade take?
Most consumer unit replacements are completed in a single day. The power will be off for a few hours while the new unit is fitted and tested, and we agree the timing with you in advance.
